Void a check

Reverse a check that was issued. Voiding frees the related invoice up to be paid again.

Reverse a check that was issued. Voiding frees the related invoice up to be paid again.

Where: Accounts Payable → Void Checks/Invoices → Void Checks

Steps

1. On the ribbon toolbar, open Void Checks/Invoices and choose Void Checks.

2. The default bank G/L `200.96` appears automatically. If you paid from a different checking account, change it. *(`200.96` is the consolidated A/P checking account Enhanced uses by default.)*

3. Confirm the void.

Important — what voiding does and doesn't do

- ✅ Once a check is voided, its invoice becomes eligible for payment again — you can reprocess it.
- ⚠️ The invoice attached to the voided check is still live. To remove it completely, you must also void the invoice — see Delete (void) an invoice.
- If the invoice itself needs corrections, delete it and re-enter it rather than editing — see Enter a vendor invoice.

→ Next step: Re-pay the freed invoice (by check / ACH), or delete the invoice if it shouldn't exist.
